The Congress is one of the widest-reaching events in Latvian science, gathering Latvian science ecosystem stakeholders from all over the world. The Congress will feature Latvian and diaspora researchers, young researchers, students, international and local partners, as well as representatives from national and international public administration institutions and politicians.

"We must view the Congress as an investment, as a platform for exchanging ideas and contacts, and as a base for making discoveries that have the potential to transform into useful products and services. The Congress will address pertinent global challenges, and how science, including science in Latvia, is involved in tackling them," State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science Līga Lejiņa remarked at the advisory board meeting of the Congress.

The previous Congress in 2018 gathered 750 participants from 24 countries, establishing researchers’ networks and advancing connection with their strategic partners from the private and public sector, as well as highlighted the role of science in the society.

Over the course of two days, participants of the Congress "Research Latvia" will discuss and analyze issues concerning the role of science in tackling global challenges as well as the value of scientific knowledge in social, cultural and economic development.
